The U.S. imperialist groups and their European and Zionist vassals are trying to deal with the general crisis of their system by intensifying the oppression on all peoples and by attacking all countries that do not submit to their predatory and speculative policies. To pursue these goals, they impose harsh economic sanctions in order to weaken the economies of sovereign countries, sanctions that worsen the situation of workers and bring poverty and instability both in the countries that are sanctioned and in the countries that, in the interests of the aforementioned imperialist groups and not the peoples, promote the sanctions.
In this context, even the International Labor Organization (ILO) is used as a tool to pursue political ends foreign and opposed to such organism. Today the ILO, which represent trade union federations from all over the world, should, in defense of workers’ interests, mobilize against the policy of illegal sanctions. Yet, on the contrary, the ILO is degraded and used as an arena to promote the interests of imperialists groups. As a result, the ILO deliberately makes decisions that violate labor rights and legitimate interests of workers in all countries, jeopardizing their incomes and employment and causing suffering to ordinary people.
This includes the activity that the ILO’s leadership has been promoting against Belarus and the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB), especially since, in 2020, governmental intervention and popular mobilization prevented a coup. Such coups took place in several other countries such as neighboring Ukraine, where the results were civil war, systematic persecution of workers, intellectuals and all leftist organizations.
It is up to workers in each country to assert their role and rights, and the organizations that claim to represent their interests must act on their mandate, not as proxies of Western financial oligarchy. Worker protagonism today lives on in the mobilization against war policies in Italian ports, where dockworkers are blocking arms traffic destined for Israel, as well as in the anti-fascist resistance of miners and metalworkers in Donbass. They are the pillars of a broad anti-imperialist Front on which bases internationalist solidarity and popular sovereignty of all countries must extend and be promoted.
ONLY UNITED IN A BROAD ANTI-IMPERIALIST AND ANTI-FASCIST FRONT, SHOWING DETERMINATION, RESISTANCE AND SOLIDARITY, SHALL WE PUT AN END TO THE CATASTROPHIC COURSE OF THINGS IMPOSED BY IMPERIALIST GROUPS AND SHALL WORKERS STRIKE BACK IN ALL COUNTRIES.
